Privacy policy
Who we are
Your data is processed by Economisescu ("we"). For anything about your data, or to exercise your rights, email contact@economisescu.ro.
In short
- You can scan products and compare prices without an account.
- We show no ads, sell no data and don't track you across other apps or websites.
- Your location stays on your phone; we don't send it to our servers and we use no analytics or statistics tools.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. The account is locked right away and the data that identifies you is deleted after 7 days.
What we collect and why

Exact location is used only on your phone to calculate and sort distances to stores. We don't send it to our servers. The camera reads barcodes and, optionally, takes a contribution photo; we never record video or audio. Shopping baskets are stored only on your phone.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Performance of the service you ask for (Art. 6(1)(b)) for your account, history, lookups and contributions; our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for security and abuse prevention.
Who we share data with
- Resend sends the sign-in code emails (it receives only your email address and the code).
- The hosting providers for our servers, database and photo storage.
We don't send your data to the stores whose prices we show. We use no ad networks and sell no data.
Where product information comes from
The product and price information shown after a barcode scan comes from publicly available data feeds and publicly accessible information on store vendors' websites. It does not contain personal data.
How long we keep it
- Account, email and synced history: until you delete your account.
- When you ask to delete your account it is locked immediately: you can't sign in and nothing is synced. Your data is deleted after 7 days, unless you email contact@economisescu.ro within that time to keep the account.
- After the 7 days we delete your email address, device identifier and device information linked to the account. Scan history, contributions and contribution stats are kept only in anonymous form, with no link to you, because they power product matches.
- The contribution audit log (which may include an IP address) is kept for fraud prevention and cannot be edited.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object. Email contact@economisescu.ro and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority (dataprotection.ro).
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings (⚙️) → Account → Delete account. The account is locked right away and you get a confirmation email. The data that identifies you is deleted after 7 days; if you change your mind, email contact@economisescu.ro within that time and we'll cancel the deletion. If you no longer have the app, email us from your account address and we'll delete it.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date above; for significant changes we also tell you in the app.
